
It is a sad day when San Francisco is dethroned as the gayest city in America by Minneapolis. This was so shocking that the Daily Show’s Jason Jones felt compelled to investigate. Jones visited both San Francisco and Minneapolis to do a side by side comparison. The more he investigated the more he understood how San Fran. got dethroned. I have a South American friend who is not an artist, but if he were, he would be a superb one because he is very good at what he does: He teaches.
He did not always teach. The son of uneducated sustenance farmers, he rose socially to become a master cabinetmaker who made a lot of money and drank a lot of alcohol.
Eventually, wanting to do more with his life, he went to school, studied Greek, Hebrew, rhetoric, logic, public speaking, and history; graduated at the top of his class; and honed his scholarly teaching ability into his dream job: a pastor of various rural Protestant churches in his home country.
Now this is not a career path that makes a lot of money.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Fans of British soul singer Adele still have a chance to buy tickets for her sold-out St. Paul concert.
JAM Productions says a couple of hundred additional tickets will be released for sale at noon Wednesday. Those tickets will be available only at the Xcel Energy Center box office — they will not be sold online or by phone. Prices range from $29.50 to $89.
There’s a two-ticket limit on all sales, and the line has a lottery system. Numbered wristbands will be available from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, with one number drawn at 11:45 a.m. to determine how the line will form.
Ticket-buyers must be at least 16 years old to receive a wristband.

(CNN) — Alex Trebek, longtime host of the television quiz show “Jeopardy,” was injured while chasing a burglar out of his hotel room early Tuesday.
The 71-year-old TV personality revealed his condition at the National Geographic World Championship in San Francisco. Footage shot by CNN affiliate KGO showed Trebek taking the long way to the stage, hobbling on crutches up the disabled-access ramp. He placed his crutches to one side and hopped over to the podium, where he told his story with the dry wit “Jeopardy” fans have come to love.

(NewsCore) – Scarlett Johansson became the latest celebrity to be invited to a Marine Corps Ball when Sgt. Dustin L. Williams sent the actress a video invitation via YouTube, FOXNews.com reported Thursday.
Johansson, 26, who starred in “Lost in Translation” and “Iron Man 2,” has a previous engagement and is unable to attend the event.
“I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams. Not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for film making,” the actress said in a statement.
“Unfortunately due to prior commitments I will not be able to attend the Ball with you this year but I am sending you a case of Moet & Chandon with gratitude.
