HOUSTON — Couples from all over the Houston area will be racing this weekend for an important symbol of love.
The Amazing Ring Race will be held at Town Green Park at The Woodlands on Saturday at noon.
Love birds from will take part in a high-tech treasure hunt for a $15,000 wedding ring set from Thomas Markle Jewelers.
Markle said, “This is the most gorgeous ring. It’s an art-carved special-edition diamond ring. It has a one-carat diamond in the middle — just an absolutely terrific set.”
Here’s how the race works. Couples will get their first clue when the race starts.
A smartphone app provides the rest of the clues. Solve a clue, and the couple moves on to the next.
The fastest couple with the most points wins.
Markle said, “It gives them an opportunity to get out and spend quality time finding something that means so much to them.”
“Houston seems to be a very romantic in-love town. It really is. A lot of couples are in love in this town,” Markle said.
Markle also offered some simple advice for the competitors on Saturday — get plenty of rest, stay hydrated and get ready for a lot of fun.
