There was a time when almost every city had its own horror host introducing the kiddies to the late-night joys of monster movies, creature features and chiller cinema. New York had Zacherley (John Zacherle). Los Angeles had Vampira (Maila Nurmi). And Cleveland, of course, had Ghoulardi, the hip host played by Ernie Anderson.

WYOMING, Minn. — As Tag Johnson walked up to the massive truck, he pointed to an aerial boom that’s designed to pierce the fuselage of a burning jet aircraft.

“This is the 54 foot elevated boom,” Johnson pointed out.

He is the sales coordinator for the Rosenbauer Company, which builds some of the largest and most versatile fire trucks in the world.

The truck, which was designed and built by Rosenbauer workers at the Wyoming fabricating plant, spent months being filmed for the newest Hollywood release of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”

“We couldn’t believe it,” said Johnson.

Painted on the side of the large red and grey truck is the image of one of the film’s main characters, “this is Sentinel Prime, right there, that’s what he looks like, yup,” Johnson said.

To anyone who has followed the Transformer saga, these robots in disguise change from ordinary cars, trucks and machinery into weapons of battle. The friendlier “Autobots” defend the

Springsteen, among those delivering eulogies, spoke eloquently of his friendship with Clemons, according to those leaving the church. Jackson Browne and members of the E Street Band were on hand. M

The Belgian critical darling served up sports staples like tennis shirts, crewneck sweaters and hunting parkas in fabrics usually more associated with ballgowns, like silk and taffeta.

“Men are always like, ‘This might be too much for me, all that shiny material, can I wear that? Is it masculine enough for me?’” van Noten told Associated Press Television News in a pre-show interview. “So when you refer to sportswear then automatically … they’re more open.”

Shown Thursday in a Paris parking garage, the spring-summer 2012 collection hit the sweet spot between masculine and feminine.
